An entrance door and garage door can support one façade without using identical construction. A pivot entrance, an iron and glass entry and a sectional garage door each have different movement, weight and weather interfaces. Coordinate the visible design while preserving the technical requirements of each system.
Set a shared façade brief
Send a front elevation or a clear photograph showing both openings. Identify the main wall material, roof or canopy, glazing and hardware finishes. Include approximate viewing distances: a close-up entrance detail and a broad garage elevation may need different levels of texture to feel balanced.
Choose the relationship you want. The doors may share a color, use related wood-look tones, repeat a horizontal or vertical rhythm, or create a deliberate contrast. A single reference image is useful for direction, but it is not a specification or proof that a design can be supplied.
Compare finish samples together
| Design choice | Practical check |
|---|---|
| Solid color | Compare the agreed color reference, gloss and surface texture |
| Wood-look finish | Review grain direction, repeat pattern, tone and panel joins |
| Batten or fluted effect | Check spacing, depth, joint positions and movement clearances |
| Glass | Compare daytime appearance, privacy needs and nighttime conditions |
| Hardware | Confirm visible handles, trims and exposed components separately |
A shared color name does not guarantee an identical appearance across different substrates, coatings or production batches. Review physical samples together under representative light and record the approved references before ordering.
Respect the two operating systems
On the entrance, examine opening sweep, handle clearance, threshold and surrounding finishes. On the garage door, examine panel articulation, track arrangement and the effect of decorative additions on the complete system. Added battens or cladding require an appropriate structural and operating review; a visual match must not be achieved by attaching unverified weight to a door.
Use the pivot specification guide and garage measurement guide to keep both sets of project inputs clear.
Approve a coordinated supply package
Maintain separate drawings and component schedules for each door, linked by the façade reference and finish approval record. State where differences in texture, profile or grain alignment are acceptable. Check packaging and installation sequencing so approved surfaces remain protected during the remaining building work.
For a coordinated inquiry, submit both opening schedules, the elevation, destination country and preferred finish direction through Request a Quote. Configuration, sample availability and final color coordination remain subject to the proposed systems and order review.
Keep facade changes from becoming unreviewed door changes
A revised batten profile, grain direction or glass band may affect the two systems differently. Keep the entrance specification and garage specification separate, with the facade approval linking their visible relationship.
For moving garage panels, use the batten planning guide to resolve section joints and applied material. Reapprove any change that affects weight or movement before treating it as a finish-only revision. Retain the physical samples as well as the elevation so later orders can be compared with the same reference.
