Custom doors need a delivery plan that accounts for their size, finish, glass and component arrangement. The packing method and handover responsibilities should be agreed with the order. A general product photograph does not describe how the goods will be protected, unloaded or identified at the destination.
Discuss packaging around the actual contents
Identify heavy frames, glazed leaves, long tracks, loose hardware and any operator equipment separately. Ask how each component will be protected and labeled, and how packages will be matched to the door schedule. The proposed packing should reflect the agreed transport and handling arrangements.
| Packing topic | Question to resolve |
|---|---|
| Identification | Which opening or component references appear on each package? |
| Finished surfaces | What protection is proposed for visible faces, edges and projecting parts? |
| Glass and long parts | Are these packed separately, and how are they identified? |
| Hardware | How are loose items listed and matched to the main assembly? |
| Handling | What package dimensions, weights and lifting information are available? |
Specific packing materials and configurations must be confirmed for the order. This page does not promise one universal crate design.
Agree the commercial handover
Confirm the delivery term, named place, transport scope, insurance arrangements where applicable, and the responsibilities for import procedures, duties, taxes, unloading and onward delivery. Record these in the quotation and accepted order documents.
Production readiness and transport time are different parts of a schedule. Dates depend on approved drawings, samples, materials, production arrangements, route and other order-specific conditions. Do not treat a website estimate as an agreed delivery date.
Prepare the receiving location
Check access, unloading equipment, storage space and the receiving contact before shipping arrangements are finalized. Consider package dimensions and the route from unloading to installation. Arrange suitable protection from site damage and environmental exposure according to the product and packing instructions.
Provide the complete delivery information through the agreed private communication channel. A public contact address or project-country field is not a complete shipping instruction.
Inspect and document receipt
Check the package count and visible condition against the packing list. Record damage or discrepancies with clear photographs, package labels and the order reference, and follow any reporting requirements in the agreed transport and sale terms. Preserve relevant packaging while the issue is reviewed where practical.
Contact [email protected] with the facts needed to identify the affected item. For order changes or a proposed return, read returns and order changes before arranging shipment. Do not send goods to an unconfirmed return address.
