Precision welding is a process question that should be answered with details of the proposed construction. A smooth finished corner can support a clean architectural appearance, but its appearance alone cannot establish joint strength, dimensional accuracy or long-term performance. Use this guide to ask for meaningful information when reviewing a welded door or frame.
Define the joint and its purpose
Identify the material, the components being joined and the role of the connection. A structural corner, decorative detail and glazing frame may have different requirements. Ask which joints are welded and which use another connection method rather than treating the complete assembly as one undifferentiated process.
The relevant supply party should confirm how the proposed construction will be made. This page describes review questions; it does not claim that every VARELDO product uses an owned welding facility or an identical fabrication method.
Inspect geometry as well as appearance
| Review area | Useful evidence |
|---|---|
| Joint arrangement | Applicable section or fabrication detail |
| Alignment | Dimensional checks appropriate to the door or frame |
| Surface finish | Close-up photographs or a representative finished sample |
| Hardware fit | Relevant preparation and assembly checks |
| Functional result | An operating demonstration where applicable |
A photograph after coating may hide the underlying joint. Where construction or finish quality is important to acceptance, agree what process records or inspection evidence should accompany the order.
Understand a seamless-look finish
“Seamless-look” describes the intended visual result, not the absence of joints. Discuss the acceptable appearance at corners, edges and transitions, including how those areas will read under the project lighting. A sample can help align expectations more precisely than an undefined claim of invisible welding.
For exposed metal doors, review the relationship between fabrication, surface preparation and the coating system. The complete finishing specification matters; a neat weld does not establish corrosion resistance.
Include verification in the supply brief
State any project-specific inspection requirement early. If a test, documented procedure or third-party review is necessary, identify the requirement so its availability and scope can be assessed before an order is agreed.
Read the steel material guide and quality and compliance page for related evidence questions. Send drawings, application, quantities and acceptance requirements through Request a Quote. Any manufacturing capability or technical performance statement must relate to the actual proposed product and supporting records.
