Flush and concealed interior doors address different details. Flush describes the alignment of the visible surfaces; concealed describes a frame or hardware treatment. A door can be flush without concealing every part of the frame.
What to resolve before choosing a design
| Decision | Information to confirm |
|---|---|
| Wall plane | Dimension the final wall surface, not only the unfinished substrate. |
| Frame junction | Agree plaster, cladding or trim returns and the order of installation. |
| Hinge and seal detail | Confirm adjustment access, reveal and the selected hardware. |
Configuration and material choices
For an invisible appearance, coordinate surface continuity without concealing service access or assuming every wall finish is suitable for the leaf.
Record frame material, leaf or panel construction, visible surface, glazing and hardware as separate specification fields. This prevents a finish name from being mistaken for the underlying construction. Each alternative should be checked against the same opening and intended use.
Choose the visible frame relationship
A flush-looking door and a concealed-frame door are not interchangeable descriptions. Mark the intended face of the leaf relative to the finished wall, the visible reveal and any exposed frame trim. Ask for a section through the head, jamb and floor so the proposed result is understood beyond the front elevation.
Coordinate the frame installation with wall finishing and floor build-up. Identify components that must be positioned before plaster, lining or decorative finishes are completed, and establish access for later hinge or latch adjustment. If a continuous wall finish is intended, review how it terminates around the moving leaf and where joints remain visible. Agree the approved detail and finish responsibility before the surrounding work conceals the interface.
Evidence and installation boundaries
Specification limits, material availability and performance documentation are subject to technical review. A material or component report is not automatically evidence for the complete door or window assembly. Tell us about the project requirements early so the applicable configuration can be assessed.
Installation must follow the agreed drawings and the actual product instructions, with responsibilities assigned to competent people. This collection is a selection resource, not a substitute for a product-specific installation manual.

Questions worth asking
Can the size and finish be customized?
Share the opening dimensions, intended use and preferred finish. Feasibility, material availability and the final configuration are subject to technical review; no universal size range is assumed.
What should I send for a quotation?
Send a marked drawing or door schedule, project country, quantity, installation context and any specified performance requirements. Identify which hardware and glazing you need included.
Are the images confirmed product specifications?
The images illustrate design and finish options. Your written quotation, approved drawings and material samples define the final configuration and supply scope.
